4.  Blue Skies

5.  No Regrets

Hello everybody!!  Happy New Year!  And ringing in the new year I wanted to check out some old Sara B stuff I actually don't have.  Does ANYBODY have any of these songs?  They're like impossible to find.

And a side note, are any fans of Sara B on here; fans of hers around the 2000-2004 years (That was actually there)?  Maybe one of you has some amateur footage of her live at an open mic or something?

P.S.:  I just got Sara's segment on Hangin' On E Street on mp3, anyone wants it... send me your email address & I'll send 'em as an attachment.

Where did you find out about these songs?  Which Blue Skies are we talking about here? Assuming not Irving Berlin's :).

Please if you can send me Hangin' On E Street that would be great!  I think you have my email.

I know that there are some fans here from MtM who I think have been Sara fans forever.

Thx.

I knew about all of these songs except "No Regrets". I wish we could find them online.

Thanks for posting this Tom, it is always really interesting to talk about her old songs.

Maybe we could ask her if she has recordings of these songs ? :)

Sara's past truly intrigues me, so I used links provided by Clement & other members to view "saved" webpages of Sara's website from 2002-2005.  *Remember my discussion months back titled "Take You Back Pre 07 Sara"*.  Well it was kinda like being in a Sara B time vault, lol.  And on the website there, it stated that after Careful Confessions, that in the upcoming months Sara would be recording her second indie album titled The Red Brick Recording Sessions.  For the album it listed some songs... among them were the songs listed above.  Except "Magnolia", I'm not sure of it's origin, except it was like played only once live.

Ask her?  Well Clement, you're the man for the job.  And btw, I just emailed the Alumni Dept. at UCLA to ask if they have any old footage of Sara from the Spring Sing contests.  SOMEONE has GOT to have it. lol.

P.S.:  Will, I just sent them over.  Plus a little bonus. :)

That's great.

I will think about it. I may ask her in a few weeks and will keep you posted :).

Thanks, man.

Good idea about the Alum Dept at UCLA. I know that Sara started out at places like Genghis Cohen and of course Hotel Cafe in LA. Maybe someone recorded something at those places. Maybe u could try contacting those venues. It's a long shot but ...........

Hey np!

Now, with the college, it's a gamble.  I'm only hoping they archive shit like that.  But with venues, no venue I know documents any performance.  Think of it (at the time), why would the local dive bar care about any singers performance on an open mic night.  Especially from almost 10yrs ago.  Hell, even the Temple Bar is long out business.

Any of you all want to try venue hopping, best of luck.  I don't see it.  But hey, are any members on here original Sara fans?  Maybe one's that saw her doing open mics, they'd know better.  We need a TEAM effort.

I agree with you that the venues themselves probably wouldn't have done anything. Audience recording are the best bet.

The only thing is that back in those day, video wasn't as common as it is now. I don't think it was in phones back then :) . So any audience recording would have been audio only.

sara did say i one blog she had over 100 demo's , so maybe she still had recordings of these song

i wish i had every song she's ever written! wish i could help. on a similar note, i'm in love with "beautiful girl" and want it in my itunes library. did Sara make a studio version of it, or have we only heard it live?

As far as I know... only live. 10-1 she's just feeling it out.

It'll probably be just like "Free Ride" or "August Moon", something that

never makes it past the concert stage.  Or if it's been recorded, I'm guessing it's in

it's demo stage at best.
