Original Song Project: test run

 

***NOTICE: THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR 3rd MUSIC VIDEO.  THIS IS A DIFFERENT PROJECT AND LESS IMPORTANT AT THE MOMENT.  If you would like to join, read, and talk about the 3rd music video, please click HERE.

 

If you haven't already seen the discussion for our 3rd Video Project, it was suggested that we create an original track. There are some major difficulties with this idea so we are thinking about holding this off for a later video.  This is just to initiate the pre-production, if you will.  Do keep in mind though, this is just an experimental process and will probably take a while to do properly.


So to start this off, I thought I'd start with a smaller project to test it out and see how it goes. If you guys could let me know which of you are willing to do what, that could be a sart.


First, just rank your top 3 musical talents. If you sing better than you can play the guitar, but can play the guitar better than you play the piano, then list:


1) sing

2) guitar

3) piano

 

Those of you who don't have instrumental talents, I need you to hang on for a bit... DO NOT FEEL LEFT OUT!  You will definitely come in later. The musicians are more complicated so be proud. Lol.

 

Ok... ready set go!

Yeah!!! Janella is back with her awesome projects! lol. 
Thank you so much for starting this topic. You rock. I'll say it again, this is a great idea!
I'm not a musician (I used to play the saxophone but had to sell it so... ). I'm not a good singer (I love singing though! haha). And I wish I could beatbox!! So I guess I'll just wait. Oh no. I'll promote this project. Yeah, let's do this.

welll I play the drums so I guess that means I can kinda beatbox..hahah and I'm not really good at singing but I was in show choir for a year..and I can work my way around a piano..so I guess my order is:

1) Drums/ Beatbox 2) Piano 3) Sing

 

hope this helps..haha just a side note...I would much rather do the first one. :)

Awesome! I mean, I'm not on the level of the guys from The Sing-Off, but I can hold my own I think..haha let me know if you need anything else!

hmm i can't do anything.... I played the viola for 9 years and still own it- but haven't picked it up in well...11 years lol Soooo... I dont think im any good anymore lol-   I could ummm beat on pots and pans LOL ..or I can ring a bell! lol

Yeyah!  Viola woot woot!  We could still do something with it... plucking comes to mind. ;)  Imagine a small quartet.  I might be getting too far ahead, but we are at the stage of purging so anything goes.  Lol.

would love to help! and would be willing to help edit the video if you need help!! also, just an idea, if this is too hard, we could always try to rewrite lyrics to one of her songs and make it be about her!

Well, I can only play the piano... I used to play flute too but I can't do that anymore (I still own one though). And I can't sing so... 

I'll just leave it at this then...

Aww, thanks Clement.  :)

So many different instruments!  I think it would be awesome to use all of these (or some select few) somehow.  You know there's always little moments in a song where you hear a stray flute or kazoo or something.  We might be able to compose a cute riff for some of you to do.
