Hey, guys! So, I said that if Sara ended up playing "Machine Gun" live when I saw her in Louisville that I would record it and post it on the site. Unfortunately, the ushers were incredibly strict about recording so I had to sneak the video. Although you can't see her, the audio is good. The song was incredible live, as was the rest of the show! :)

The link below will send you to the video:

Hey Katelyn:

Machine Gun is my absolute favorite on the album. Glad Sara played it. Hope she will play it in Boston on Tuesday when I will be there.

But, the link is not there for some reason. Can you re-post the link? Thx.!!
For sure! My bad...here it is. Didn't you just recently see her live? Did she not play it?

Thanks. I love it. Like it always is with Sara, her live performance is often better than the studio for some reason. The chorus always sends a shiver down my back :)

(Looks like you must have had that camera well hidden, lol !)

I did see her live last week and she didn't play it. Hopefully she will in Boston tomorrow.
Hmmm. That's interesting. I don't know if you read my post about receiving an e-mail from her, but I asked her if it would be possible to get on stage with her at the Louisville show. I wasn't really expecting to hear anything from her, and she actually e-mailed me back AGAIN. This is what she sent:
Katelyn,
Thanks so much for your incredible enthusiasm and support. Your videos are awesome and I'm lucky to have fans like you. Unfortunately I can't make your dream come true this time about getting on stage. I'm so sorry. There are restrictions for stuff like that. :( boo.
I hope you can still enjoy the show! Sorry darlin!!
Much love,
S

Anyway, so I of course responded to that e-mail with the following:
Sara (or S, apparently)--
No worries at all! I wasn't even expecting you to see the videos, much less let me on stage. It was a complete shot in the dark, so no hard feelings whatsoever--I will still be clapping and singing like a mad woman from my seat...haha. I already feel sorry for the people that have to sit next to me...oh, well. They'll get over it. ;)

Happy Halloween, by the way! Twitter tells me that you dressed up like Jack Sparrow (always a good choice). I'm still recovering from last night's festivities, myself. Since I can't get on stage with you, you should really consider playing "Machine Gun." That song is flippin' amazing and I can only imagine how good it would be live. :)

You are amazing. What makes you so special is not only your talent, but the way you connect with your fans. Regardless of how big you get, never lose that. It's what makes you stand out from everyone else. I am honored that I've been able to meet you and connect with you directly--I am very lucky. Thanks so much, and I'll see you Saturday!

So...now I'm wondering if she actually read my request for her to play "Machine Gun" and decided to do it. At first I thought she had just added it to her set list for the second half of her tour (she didn't replace any other songs with it), but you just said she didn't play it at the show you were at. Either way, I was thrilled that she played it and part of me feels like she did it in response to my e-mail. I'll keep thinking that, at least. Haha.

Maybe you will get a better video than I did. Enjoy the show! :)
I remember about you writing a letter to Sara and giving it to her.

Wow, that's great! Sara is just the best. I'll bet you that she did Machine Gun because of your request.

As far as I know, I haven't seen it on any set list at any other location.

I have to admit, I kind of envious of you. An email relationship with Sara. Wow.
One other thing.

A little while ago, Sara invited a fan at a concert up on the stage to sing a duet of Gravity.

Evidently, some people didn't really like it for a number of reasons and thought she shouldn't have done it. (I thought is was a very kind and incredibly generous thing to do myself).

So fans on the stage is a bit controversial I guess.

I actually saw a video of the girl that got on stage with Sara and sang Gravity, but I didn't know that several people were upset over it. I suppose they went to the concert to hear Sara sing Gravity (for many, that's their favorite song by her), but I agree with you and think it was an incredibly gracious and kind act. I suppose that's why she may not do it, anymore. I wasn't even really asking to sing with her, I just wanted to do the claps in King of Anything...haha.

Have you ever met Sara before? I can almost guarantee that if you hang around after the show and wait by her tour bus you will get a chance to meet her. I've done that twice now and have been able to say hello to her both times. You should certainly try to do it! :)
No, I've never met her before. I would love to of course.

But, yeah, my plan is to hang around the tour bus and say hello. I just hope I don't get too star-struck and say something dumb :) I'm, not really good at that kind of thing.

Did you have to wait long by the bus. I've heard that sometimes it can be a pretty long wait - although it's Sara so I don't care.

If I do see her, I'll mention SaraBFans :)
Hey guys :) Great discussion ! Really nice to read your posts.
So first, Thank you Katelyn for sharing the video of 'Machine Gun' live ! I'm sorry, I can't say I'm really excited about it. Indeed, I do not really like this song, at least that's the one I love the less on KH. Don't really know why. But I know a lot of people do love it, and it's nice to see she has changed a little her setlist.

I do think she played it at other shows. About the e-mail, that's awesome! Really ! She's so nice. Did you get to meet her again Katelyn ?

And yes, I have heard some people complain about the girl joining Sara on stage to sing 'Gravity', and although it's really nice, I have to admit that I would not have appreciated it that much neither.

Anyway, enjoy the show William ! I hope you'll have fun (No doubt!) and that you will be lucky enough to meet Sara :). And yeah, it would be great to mention SaraBFans, thanks =)
Awesome performance! I hope there will be a video where we can see her perform it. The chorus is awazing and her voice sounds beautiful!
Hey, Clement! Has she played it before? I heard she played it on October 18th, but she hasn't been consistently playing it, I don't think. Needless to say, I was excited when she performed it...haha.

I actually didn't stick around to meet her this time--I was with my mom and sister and it was FREEZING outside, so I told them we could just head back home (we also had a four hour drive). I really would have liked to have stuck around to say hello, but it just wasn't happening this time.

I hope she does play it again and someone gets a better video. I was lucky to get what I did--the ushers were crazy!
How'd you get her email??
