So I watched the Billboard video of Sara's cover of Single Ladies, which was posted on the front page. I thought it was great, and I was inspired to go browse YouTube for more performances of unofficial songs.
I found Anchors Away many months ago, but I think it's still worth mentioning here. Great slow song.
I first heard Free Ride on the Christmas EP that was released for members of her mailing list. Absolutely terrific! It's catchy and moves along nicely because of the quick, flowing rhythm.
And then I found Goodbye Song. Wooooooow. Shockingly good, it really doesn't get better than this. Far better than Gravity, in my opinion! It has a jazzy, R&B sort of style that I really love. Did Sara write this, or is it just a cover?
There's plenty more from The Summer Sessions and The First One too.
Oh, and I heard Gonna Get Over You in full for the first time. It's not unofficial but I still wanna mention it. I think this song is gonna make it big. Happy, bouncy piano playing and one of the best choruses I've ever heard!
Sara has enough great unreleased songs to make a whole other album!

Comment by Tom on July 20, 2011 at 11:53am Oh, I'm not saying she wouldn't "acknowledge" an oldie...
Just saying she wouldn't invest time into the old stuff.
Case in point being your example (Inside Out)... she sang a bit of it after it was
requested. It wasn't in the program, & wasn't done in it's entirety. Something for
her to nicely, briefly think back to, but not really re-do. Purely opinional though.

As a s/s, I think I have a possible answer.
You see, once you & your art get to a certain point, you seldom look back.
I mean, (as a s/s) you know your past; you see where you came from...
but you also know/feel; "that was me then & now I can do better".
All that said, we still love her old stuff but her as an artist would rather move forward
than look back. - Just thinking as a s/s here; tryin' to shed some light.
